About HEFN
The Health and Environmental Funders Network is a network of funders committed to grantmaking at the nexus of environment and health. By building this cross-cutting philanthropic community, HEFN and its members are supporting an increasingly powerful movement towards healthier people, ecosystems, and communities.
HEFN provides information and updates for its members, organizes funder events, does outreach into philanthropy, and enables funders to collaborate around shared goals or projects.
HEFN does not make grants, nor does it recommend grants or grant-seeking organizations to funders.

On January 1, 2011, HEFN made an exciting move to more independent operations at Virginia Organizing. Virginia Organizing is a statewide grassroots organization based in Charlottesville, Virginia empowering local communities to address issues that affect the quality of their lives. HEFN’s staff and funder leadership are excited to begin a new phase of work to scale up philanthropic impact on critical environmental health and environmental justice problems.
