About HEFN
The Health and Environmental Funders Network is a network of grantmakers investing at the intersections of health and the environment. HEFN's mission is to maximize the impact of philanthropy on environmental health and environmental justice.
HEFN is the "go-to" place for grantmakers interested in exploring or investing in the environmental health and justice field. It provides its members with information, learning and networking opportunities, and collaboration services. HEFN does outreach in philanthropy, often in partnership with national or regional funder group partners.
HEFN does not make grants, nor does it recommend grants or grant-seeking organizations to funders.
HEFN operates as a joint plan of work of Virginia Organizing. To learn about HEFN's history and first decade of operations, read "Minding the Environmental Health Gap: HEFN Marks Ten Years of Progress," excerpted from the fall 2009 EGA Journal.
