Over the past year, the nation's focus on the tragedy that unfolded in Flint has shone a brighter light on the tragic, costly and devastating impact of lead poisoning across our nation. Building on the opportunities presented by this renewed focus, the progress made to date and a growing national movement to bend the arc of public and political will to bring an end to the toxic legacy of lead in the United States, the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative, Healthy Babies, Bright Futures, Mt. Sinai and the National Center for Healthy Housing have joined forces to produce a National Summit to End Lead Poisoning on December 5th, 2016 in Washington DC.   This Summit will bring together the best and brightest strategists from leaders in government, public policy, environmental health, healthcare, housing, education, philanthropy and the private sector. The goal of the Summit is to build stakeholder capacity across sectors to end childhood lead poisoning as a major public health threat within 5 years.
