The 2016 Water and Health Conference: Where Science Meets Policy, organized by The Water Institute at UNC, considers drinking water supply, sanitation, hygiene and water resources in both the developing and developed worlds with a strong public health emphasis.

Note that there will be a one-day special event on October 11th focusing on US-based water issues!  

The conference will feature His Excellency Ato Motuma Mekassa, member of parliament and Minister of Water, Irrigation, and Electricity for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.  

In addition, this year’s theme keynotes include: 

Marc Edwards, PhD, Charles Lunsford Professor of Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech

Gary White, CEO and co-founder of Water.org

Srinivas Chary Vedala, Director of the Centre for Urban Governance, Infrastructure Development, Environment and Energy at College of India

David Gute, Professor for the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Tufts University

Captain Rick Gelting, Ph.D, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
