Save the Dates for Important Funder Meetings
HEFN is pleased to announce the funder meeting, “Drilling Deeper: Fracking Impacts, Funder Strategies and Site Visit,” which will be held April 2 – 3 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Fairmont Hotel.
Jointly sponsored by HEFN, the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems Funders, this meeting is aimed at funders concerned about the public health, ecological, and community impacts related to natural gas extraction. The meeting’s agenda will include a site visit, discussions of the varied impacts of hydrofracking, and time to discuss funding strategies with other grantmakers. Registration will open soon!

- This new report from Sandra Steingraber discusses the public health threats posed by hydrofracking--and the human rights dilemma posed by researching them. It represents the expanded and footnoted version of the talk Ms. Steingraber gave on January 9, 2012 at a national conference on the public health effects of fracking that was convened by the Physicians Scientists and Engineers for Healthy Energy (PSE).
