Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE) is a national organization that works to eliminate toxic chemicals that impact women’s health by changing consumer behaviors, corporate practices and government policies.  WVE envisions a world in which all women have the right to live in a healthy environment, free from toxic chemicals that adversely impact their health and well-being.  Women will be active leaders in creating a world where corporate practices and government policies ensure the water they drink, the food they eat, the air they breathe, and the products they use in their homes and workplaces are not contaminated with toxic chemicals that may impact their health.  

·         Educating and Engaging Women ~ WVE believes in the power of women – as consumers, as mothers, as daughters – to make changes in corporate practices or government policies that affect them.  WVE designs programs that engage and mobilize a broad array of women to act and ultimately to implement systemic change.

·         Policy Advocacy ~ WVE advocates for policy change at all levels of government.  We draft, lead, and support legislative policies that protect environmental health.  WVE also partners in advocacy efforts with like-minded organizations on issues that are important to women.

·         Market-Based Campaigns ~ WVE believes that consumers, and particularly women, hold a tremendous amount of power to shift company practices through their purchasing choices, thereby making substantial impacts to environmental health.  WVE conducts effective corporate campaigns that call on a specific corporation or industry to make a change. 

·         Disseminating Research ~ WVE uses scientific data as the foundation for our advocacy, media, and engagement of women.  WVE compiles the body of available peer-reviewed research on a particular topic, distills out the most important and relevant information for our constituency, and produces reports and fact sheets that are easy for the general public to read, understand and distribute. 

·         Cross-Collaboration ~ WVE recognizes that our work is not confined to a single issue.  Through strategic alliances and collaborative efforts, WVE works in the intersection of health, environment, reproductive justice, and women’s movements.
