On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Children's Environmental Health Network (CEHN), we would like to invite you to our 6th Annual Child Health Advocate Award Reception on Thursday October 27th from 5:30pm-7:30pm in Washington, DC. We hope you can join us in honoring leading advocates for children's environmental health, and celebrate the great work of CEHN and Children's Health Month!

Our 2011 award recipients are:

Science Award - Dr. Herbert Needleman, Researcher and Pediatrician

Policy Award - Mr. Erik Olson, Director of Food Programs, Pew Health Group

Community Award - Ms. Zakia Shabazz, Executive Director, United Parents Against Lead

Arts/Media Award - Dr. Sandra Steingraber, Ecologist, and Author

This event serves to raise awareness on the effects of environmental hazards to children's health, to acknowledge effective children's environmental health advocates, and to raise support for our important programs. Guests include distinguished health professionals, public health advocates, researchers, and community-based leaders within the field of children's environmental health. The event highlights not only the history and work of CEHN but also children's unique vulnerabilities and susceptibilities when they are exposed to environmental toxicants.
