Drilling Deeper: Fracking Impacts, Funder Strategies and Site Visit

Jointly sponsored by HEFN, the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems Funders, this meeting will discuss the impacts of fracking on people, ecosystems, and communities, and it will explore the grantmaking strategies funders are employing to address these impacts. It will also include a site visit to see nearby gas fields and talk with local citizens and activists. (April 2 – 3, 2012; Pittsburgh, PA)

Drilling Deeper: Fracking Impacts, Funder Strategies, and Site Visit

April 2-3, 2012

 

Please join us in Pittsburgh for a special funder meeting focused on the practice of hydrofracking.  This meeting, jointly sponsored by HEFN, the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems Funders, is aimed at funders concerned about the public health, ecological, and community impacts related to natural gas extraction.

 

This important meeting will begin with a site visit to see nearby gas fields and talk with local citizens and activists.  Programming will cover the impacts of fracking on people, ecosystems, and communities, and it will explore the grantmaking strategies funders are employing to address these impacts.  A draft agenda is available here.

 

Seating at this meeting is limited.  Priority will be given to members of the sponsoring organizations.  Other funders will be welcome as space permits.
