The 2012 State of the States Briefing will explore a variety of environmental concerns facing our nation’s states and localities, and how models from the state and local scale can be employed in a global framework. From privatization to civic engagement, and youth movements to current infrastructural planning, the State of the States will allow you to connect with funders on central issues and initiate important dialogue.
2012 State of the States Briefing highlights:
- Engaging plenaries focused on local, state, and national dialogues with speakers including Major General Anthony Jackson (Commanding General, Marine Corps Installations - Ret), Rob McKay (President, McKay Foundation), and May Boeve (Co-founder, 350.org), among many other significant speakers
- A variety of pertinent concurrent sessions on topics including fracking, energy, food sovereignty, water policy, sub-national planning, and civic engagement as they relate to new movements in the environmental field
- Ad-hoc sessions, allowing you to engage directly with other funders on shared topics of interest
- A site visit, exploring the surrounding community and its connection to environmental progress
- And receptions, co-hosted with funders and affinity groups
