In the aftermath of the BP Oil Spill Disaster, foundations in the New York metro-region have begun to provide significant support, as they did after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Gulf Coast region, struggling to recover from the hurricanes, now faces a new environmental disaster. A panel consisting of foundation and community leaders will provide an update on the spill, regional impacts, and short- and long-term funding strategies. EGA will provide a matrix of funding opportunities recommended by funder colleagues.
