Graduate Student Research Assistant: Children’s Environmental Health

- The Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) is seeking a graduate student research assistant!
The Children's Environmental Health Network is a multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to protect the fetus and the child from environmental health hazards and promote a healthy environment. CEHN has been working on education, policy, and awareness on a national level since 1992, with a focus on high-risk communities.
CEHN seeks assistance with the following PROJECTS:
• Assist with the Washington DC-based portion of national childcare and preschool environmentally focused initiatives
o Develop educational materials
o Conduct environmental health assessments
o Serve as health educators as needed
• Policy and advocacy work, focus on chemical safe policies
• Outreach and education
• Organizational development through fundraising and grant-writing
General Qualifications
This position is available to all public health graduate students. Additionally, experience in the following is desired:
• Strong interest in pediatric environmental health issues and knowledge of children's health and environmental health.
• Excellent communication, research, and writing skills
• General office support
• Fundraising
The position starts in January and requires an 8-month minimum commitment with the option to extend beyond a year if needs and funding permits. This position includes a modest monthly stipend. Additionally, this is a valuable internship or special project opportunity, which can be coordinated with school requirements. Hours are flexible!
