The Human Health Effects of the Gulf Coast Oil Spill: A Summary of the IOM Workshop

Description
The Gulf oil spill is now being called the largest single environmental disaster in our nation’s history. The impact on the gulf ecosystem is only beginning to be assessed. And what of potential impacts on human health? The Institute of Medicine convened a meeting in late June, 2010 on that topic, and we will heard from some of the leading participants in that meeting on Thursday, July 29 about known and suspected health implications of the spread of crude oil and of efforts to contain and clean it.
