Building Support for a Global Mercury Treaty

Mercury Policy Project (MPP) presents a hopeful view of building a Global Mercury Treaty to protect families around the world from mercury contamination.

Organization: Mercury Policy Project

Mercury Policy Project (MPP) presents a hopeful view of building a Global Mercury Treaty to protect families around the world from mercury contamination. At the United Nations Environmental Programme's 25th Governing Council meeting, an agreement was reached to set up an International Negotiating Committee (INC) to produce a Global Mercury Treaty by 2013.  In the meantime, an Open-ended Working Group (OEWG) was established to do the background work in preparation for the INC.  MPP’s director, on behalf of Zero Mercury Working Group, presented Mercury Storage-Supply Partnership and Related Initiatives at the OEWG in Thailand.
