The Potatoes to Plastics ad was produced by the Alliance for a Clean and Healthy Maine to demonstrate that safer chemicals and safer products are not simply protective public health goals, but are also pro-active, cutting-edge economic development strategies. The ad was used to frame our campaign as solution-oriented, positive, and forward-thinking. Our Potatoes to Plastics project has grown into a full-fledged collaboration between public health organizations, for-profit businesses, and university researchers working toward manufacturing potato-based plastic in Maine.
