Join the Lead Funders Action Network (LFAN), a Health and Environmental Funders Network (HEFN) funder collaborative, for an enlightening webinar that traces the evolution of our collaborative investments into a robust federal policy campaign. Initiated in 2017 with support from the JPB, Joyce, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundations, LFAN has been strategically navigating the complex landscape of childhood lead poisoning prevention, which impacts over 500,000 children in the U.S.

This webinar will explore how LFAN’s sustained efforts over several years have shaped a comprehensive approach to eliminating lead exposure through innovative financing and community-led policy initiatives, with a focus on the development and impact of pivotal projects that have informed our current National Lead Safe Home Fund Advocacy Campaign. Notably, the JPB Foundation-funded study on Lead Remediation Financing Scan, and the NY Community Trust-funded Lead Strategies Legal Partnership provided critical insights that guided the establishment of significant local funds, including the $3.5 million Buffalo & Erie County Landlord Property Improvement Fund and the $100+ million Lead Safe Home Fund in Cleveland. These funds represent successful models of how local policy changes and community activism can catalyze substantial investment in lead-safe housing.
